This opportunity will be starting Summer 2026 , working with our Safety teams. The Safety intern will gain hands-on learning opportunities that support their professional growth. Put your education into action by assisting our Safety team! Safety is at the core of all operations roles at Royal, construction management majors are encouraged. Success in the position can be achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Currently in college, enrolled in a Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Electrical Technology, or related program.
  • Strong interest in workplace safety, electrical safety, and construction safety practices.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards preferred, but not required, OSHA 10/30 a plus.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail and a team player.
  • Ability to work effectively in both office and construction site environments.
  • Strong situational awareness skills for identifying hazards and unsafe practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Clear verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work well in a team.
  • Comfortable wearing PPE and working in various weather conditions.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
  • Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Ability Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the work shift.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs throughout the work shift.
  • Will lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing site safety inspections to identify and correct safety hazards.
  • Monitor proper use and condition of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • In conjunction with safety team members, prepare Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for electrical and construction activities.
  • Update and maintain safety records, training logs, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate and assist teaching in-house safety training courses.
  • Help prepare project documentation for launches.
  • Support post incident documentation gathering, Collaborative Learning Events (CLE’s), near-miss investigations and four block communications.
  • Contribute ideas to improve workplace safety and hazard prevention.
