About The Position

The Safety Intern position at Endeavor Air will integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional workplace. The Intern will utilize administrative, organizational, communication and critical thinking skills to complete project-based work assignments in the Safety Department with an emphasis on the Endeavor FOQA program. At Endeavor Air, the Safety Department is responsible for ensuring the safety of our employees, customers, and equipment. To accomplish this goal, we employ programs to identify safety concerns, review data and trends, and audit processes and procedures. This position will focus heavily on development of additional measurements, events and metrics in the Endeavor FOQA program, but this position will also have opportunities to assist in other functions of the Safety Department based on skill, ability and interests. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Aviation Operations, Safety, or closely related degree program with Junior or Senior credit standing at the time of application submission.
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong PC proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective organizational, time management, & multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work full time (32-40 hours/week) during weekdays, with some schedule flexibility, if needed.
  • Ability to work and be based in Minneapolis, MN; relocation assistance is not available.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a business environment.
  • Minimal physical exertion such as: pulling, pushing, reaching, bending, standing, walking, and light lifting of boxes, bags files, and electronic equipment not in excess of 30 lbs.
  • Computer work, in a typical office environment sitting for the majority of the day.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GE's Event Measurement System (EMS) preferred.
  • Experience in PowerBI and/or Tableau preferred.
  • Commercial or Private Pilot Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Help with processing and validation tasks for FOQA data.
  • Conduct studies and analyses of FOQA data as coordinated and assigned by the Manager, FOQA & Safety Analysis.
  • Develop new metrics in the Endeavor FOQA system to aid in development of Flight Safety analytics.
  • Assist in maintaining the FOQA program in accordance with the FOQA Letter of Agreement and Implementation & Operations (I&O Plan).
  • Researching and collecting data from a variety of safety/security databases to perform standard and ad hoc analysis.
  • Assisting in the investigation of incidents and operationally reported events of various risks.
  • Utilize flight animation software to animate FOQA events for pilot education and awareness.
  • Attending departmental meetings throughout the organization as a representative from the Safety department.
  • Perform other duties within the Endeavor Safety Department based on skills and interests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
