About The Position

The Safety Intern performs routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures. This position reports to the Vice President of Safety. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 125 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Requirements

  • Completed courses as part of working towards a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field.
  • Preferably, the individual will have credits corresponding to at least a college junior or senior.
  • Driver’s License with the ability to commute to/from Collins Milwaukee Office (exact work hours and days may be flexible).

Responsibilities

  • Compile safety reports
  • Update safety manuals
  • Coordinate safety equipment inventory and assessment data
  • Use a variety of software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Adobe, in-house asset management SaaS, etc.)
  • Field work will be required
  • Other duties may be assigned
