The Manufacturing Safety Summer Intern will support the Safety and EHS team at our El Paso manufacturing facility, focusing on proactive injury prevention, regulatory compliance, and data-driven safety initiatives during peak summer operations. This internship provides hands-on exposure to plant safety operations within a high-production manufacturing environment. The intern will work closely with plant leadership and safety professionals to strengthen compliance, improve documentation, and support heat-illness prevention efforts. This position is located in El Paso, Texas and is an onsite internship opportunity. This is not a remote role. The selected intern will present project outcomes at our annual Intern Expo Day on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Program Details Program Dates: Monday, May 18, 2026 – Friday, August 7, 2026 Length: 12 Weeks Schedule: Full-time, hourly Required: Must be available for the full program duration and attend/present at Intern Expo Day

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Assist with safety observations and facility inspections
  • Support heat-stress monitoring during high-temperature months
  • Help identify and address potential risks before incidents occur
  • Assist with completion and organization of safety audits
  • Maintain training records and regulatory documentation
  • Support OSHA and corporate compliance tracking
  • Collect, organize, and analyze safety and heat-related data
  • Identify trends and assist in recommending corrective actions
  • Support reporting efforts for plant leadership
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for safety initiatives
  • Enable safety staff to focus on training, risk assessments, and continuous improvement efforts
