Job Summary: The Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing safety and health programs within the day-to-day division operations with a focus on injury prevention and regulatory compliance. Working Conditions: This is a field-based position. Jobsite presence is frequent with an expectation that all safety-related measures are adhered to. Overtime may be required as business needs dictate. Fast-paced environment during heavier volume season. Airtron is looking for new team members to join us! Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of two (2) years of safety industry related experience with safety responsibilities is required
  • Good computer competency is required, including a minimum of 1-year experience Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage projects and resources
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required

Nice To Haves

  • 30+ hour OSHA Certification
  • Related industry safety experience
  • Related Fleet management experience
  • Ability to work with minimum direct supervision
  • Strong working knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of Process Safety Management requirements according to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119
  • Ability to run a functional safety committee with agendas, meeting minutes, etc.
  • Ability to speak in front of large groups effectively
  • Basic understanding of occupational health and industrial hygiene principles
  • Ability to positively interact with regulatory agencies
  • Ability to compile, analyze, and interpret data and conduct incident analyses

Responsibilities

  • Conduct New Hire Safety Orientations: 3-4 days total, possibly 5 to include Driver Training
  • Coordinate and facilitate all monthly Safety trainings for Warehouse, Field, and Office: 1 – 2 hours per meeting
  • Attend Monthly and weekly Safety meetings presented by Airtron Safety
  • Maintain Refrigerant Record System – virgin and recovery: create and print technician logs (20 - 100 at a time), create and print inventory transfer sheets (20 – 100 at a time), input data from returned tanks onto master logs
  • Refrigerant Tank Management – manage recovery tank inventory, testing dates, coordinate delivery/pick-up
  • PPE supply – inventory management, distribution, and ordering
  • Worksite Safety Inspections: Times vary from half a day to entire day depending on encounters in the field, traffic, and workload in the field
  • Facility Safety Inspections: Fire Extinguishers, AED machines, First Aid Kits, Safety Signage, OSHA regulation compliance promoting safe processes and procedures sited by OSHA and Airtron Safety
  • Available response for and to MVAs, Injuries, Incidents, & Property Damage: 6:30am – last technician arrives home at night
  • Incident Investigation: at fault can take anywhere from 2-4 hours depending on the situation to collect accurate information and pictures, write up investigation report, assist employee with filling out NRG 704 form and Holman incident form.
  • Coordinating and escorting for Drug/Alcohol screening and/or provide transportation for individuals unable to drive if managers are unavailable.
  • Input full MVAs, injuries, incidents, and property damage reports into Intelex
  • Record maintenance: refrigerant logs, employee training (safety training and/or certifications), refrigerant and nitrogen tanks, inspections
  • Perform duties associated with Division Fleet Management to include (and not limited to) oversight of all maintenance and planning for all Fleet assets.
