As the Safety Engineer II, you will develop, implement and monitor programs that drive year-over-year increases in safety and ergonomics and maintain the highest environmental quality standards. Participate in the development of methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices. Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental and policy and procedure manuals. Assist in ensuring compliance with all HSE regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. May serve as a contact with regulatory bodies. Inspect facilities, machinery (R3 – Risk Assessments), and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance. Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents. Develop, implement, and manage health and safety plans and data for the employer’s facilities. Conduct safety audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety programs.
