About The Position

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and implementing safety programs to create a secure work environment. The Safety Coordinator works in coordination with the Safety Manager. Duties include, but are not limited to: · Participates in various safety related meetings including safety talks, weekly touchpoints, standdowns, and other safety meetings. · Perform jobsite inspections to identify improvement areas and provide coaching to the field team as necessary. · Keeps up with and maintains a keen understanding of company/customer safety policies. · Review and provide feedback on operating procedures and safety precautions to minimize the potential for accident, injury, or illness. · Manages behavior-based safety program. · Ability to interpret reports to identify trends in various leading and lagging metrics. · Reviews/approves safety supplies/equipment for use and effectiveness. · Manages safety supply/equipment stock and ordering. · Provide/schedules orientation and task-specific training as needed. · Manages training program to ensure employees are up to date. · Responsible for the investigation and reporting of near-misses, injuries, property damages, and vehicle accidents. · Travel to various jobsites within driving distance. · Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (preferred). A higher degree of education may be substituted for experience. Years of working knowledge in a safety professional’s position may be substituted for education requirements.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in a safety related position with training experience.
  • Ability to provide training material and conduct training.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Must be able to live up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel and inspect outdoor job site locations throughout the company footprint.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in management software is a plus.
