About The Position

Nucor Towers and Structures (NTS) is a new entity within Nucor, the largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products in North America, focused on the execution of our strategy to “Expand Beyond” our core business. As a part of Nucor’s New Markets product group, NTS is focused on the exciting growth potential in the power distribution market. Nucor Towers & Structures: Is part of Nucor’s Expand Beyond initiative. NTS builds transmission towers that is critical for Americas future infrastructure. Nucor Towers and Structures - Utah location is seeking candidates for the position of Safety Coordinator. The responsibilities of a Safety Coordinator include but are not limited to maintaining the Safety Management Systems (SMS); Interacting with all division teammates to ensure plant understanding of and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; Developing, organizing, and delivering safety training; Compiling, reviewing and reporting injury/illness statistics and OSHA 300 logs; Monitoring contractor safety programs/performance, workers’ compensation and industrial health program; Leading and participating in Division and company safety activities, initiatives and audits; Strategically planning and executing improvements to our safe practices for operations and equipment along with establishing methods to enhance the working environment and culture; Reviewing, developing and authoring safety, equipment, and operating policies/procedures and managing plant security. Candidate must be willing to travel with short notice. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years’ safety-related experience within manufacturing industry
  • Must be willing to travel with short notice
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and be on call for emergency situations (24/7)
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of OSHA Standards and safety regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Active involvement in division safety culture and programs
