The Safety Coordinator is responsible for safety administration duties at all Company locations, to organize safety training for employees, file and monitor all Workers Comp claims, liaison with treating physicians and help operations comply with required accommodations. Builds and maintains a customer-oriented work culture by delivering exceptional customer service Visit company and non-company locations to conduct inspections on facilities, equipment and materials while tracking corrective actions. Evaluate and assess safety procedures and recommend to management any alterations or changes in safety procedures and policies Manage and reduce incidents of injuries and non-compliance of company protocols Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies, such as OSHA, Cal OSHA Prepare and conduct monthly, quarterly, annual and refresher safety training sessions for employees; conduct safety training for temporary employees when needed; coordinate all outside safety training Manage and maintain a safety training program in HRIS as part of all new hires onboarding process and for current employees Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near-miss events; conduct post-accident, incident and near-miss training; analyze accidents and evaluate, train and implement options to avoid future accidents, incidents or near misses Ensure that the accident report, DWC 1 Forms, and OSHA 300 forms are completed. Report and monitor all Workers Comp claims; participate in quarterly loss reviews; take injured workers (Santa Paula & Oxnard if not trauma) to the industrial doctor for the first treatment Administer Company Safety Programs; assist in Safety Committees meetings in all Company locations Coordinate with Food Safety personnel during audits and for Quarterly inspections Update Monthly “Accident-Free Days” report; update monthly loss report recaps Maintain OSHA log; post log as required by law; work with all locations to comply with OSHA reporting requirement Tracks all Workers Comp leaves of absence throughout the Company, monitors employees on work restrictions and modified duty with tracking appointments and changes in medical status Update and monitor Safety boards with up-to-date flyers and information Attend and participate in third-party safety trainings, seminars, workshops, and programs, as requested by Supervisor or management Translations of documents as needed Various administrative tasks as needed Other projects or tasks assigned by Senior Human Resources Manager or management as needed
