Provides critical analysis and documentation for the Safety Department, applying OSHA, DOT, MSHA, industry and other regulations, processes and best practices. Works with supervisors from assigned departments to mentor and train employees in best safety practices. This position is a key contact for the Safety Department, serving as a liaison for other Empire employees. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plan, organize, and administer compliance audits and safety activities within assigned workgroups to include safety briefings and regulatory compliance training, in order to support and ensure that supervisors and their workgroups are in compliance with required training. Analyze compliance and incident data and track employee incident data in records management systems through close coordination with Safety, Human Resource and Risk Management personnel. Analyze, track, and verify employee safety and DOT training and compliance records. Plan, organize and facilitate safety and compliance training to area supervisors on identified Federal, State, Local regulations and Empire Safety Policies.Administer company compliance programs, such as hearing conservation, respirator, and hazcom. Maintain strong knowledge of current OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations. Use discretion and independent judgment to research, analyze, and recommend solutions to safety compliance problems. Work safely at all times. Adhere to all applicable safety policies. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
