About The Position

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures within the workplace, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, conducting safety inspections, investigating accidents, providing safety training, and promoting a culture of safety among employees to prevent workplace injuries and hazards; essentially acting as the primary advocate for workplace safety for B&G Oilfield Services.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards (OSHA, Federal, State regulations).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and educate employees.
  • Analytical skills to identify safety hazards and investigate incidents.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Familiarity with ISNetworld, PEC Compliance, and Veriforce.
  • Hands-on experience with pipeline, roustabout, oilfield trucking, and related operations.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment used in oilfield maintenance.
  • Practical understand of parts, tools, and supplies relevant to the industry.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment safely and legally.
  • Maintain a neat appearance, acceptable personal hygeiene, and a professional demeanor.
  • Adherence to company safety protocols and willinghness to attend all safety meetings.
  • Clear and consistent communication with internal teams.
  • Ability to complete required paperwork and report in a timely manner.
  • Valid driver’s license, with CDL Class A preferred, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and physical fitness test.
  • Willingness to assit with various tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Required to lead all safety meetings.
  • Must be able to maintain the cleanliness of all company equipment and vehicles.
  • Have your own housing.
  • Must be able to complete all safety requirements of the job.
  • Bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational health, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Occupational Hygiene and Safety, OSHA, H2S, Safety Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Creating and updating safety policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and legal requirements (OSHA, State and Federal regulations).
  • Communicating safety policies to all employees through training and signage.
  • Regularly reviewing and updating safety procedures based on identified risks and incidents.
  • Safety Inspections and Audits:
  • Conducting routine safety inspections of work areas, equipment, and facilities to identify potential hazards.
  • Performing safety audits to assess compliance with safety policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documenting findings from inspections and audits, and creating corrective action plans.
  • Accident Investigation and Reporting:
  • Investigating workplace accidents and near misses to determine root causes and prevent future occurrences.
  • Collecting data and documenting details of incidents.
  • Analyzing accident trends to identify areas for targeted safety interventions.
  • Safety Training and Education:
  • Developing and delivering safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, refresher courses, and specific job-related safety training.
  • Providing ongoing safety awareness campaigns and communication to reinforce safe work practices.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Management:
  • Ensuring employees have access to appropriate PPE and are properly trained on its use.
  • Inspecting PPE for damage and ensuring proper fit.
  • Compliance Management:
  • Staying updated on relevant safety regulations and ensuring the company maintains compliance.
  • Monitoring safety performance metrics and reporting to management.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Working closely with supervisors, managers, and employees to address safety concerns and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Collaborating with other departments, such as HR and Operations, to integrate safety considerations into workplace practices.
  • Coordinate HSE policies, procedures and guidelines as instructed to include data management system documentation and reports as required on significant trends.
  • Review and critique JSA’s, and work permits and provide positive and constructive feedback.
  • Work in conjunction with the Safety Committee and the management team to further employee HSE initiatives.
  • Maintain and manage training documentation including rosters, tests, training cards, certifications, and schedule recurring training.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, basic training classes, and assist with the onboarding of new employees.
  • Oversee and conduct facility safety meetings and material.
  • Act as liaison with Work Force Safety and maintain current and correct data for WSI account.
  • Review regulatory documentation to maintain facility compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Identify and manage risk, incident reporting and investigation, waste minimization, pollution prevention control, various compliance activities and implementation of various aspects of management systems in all areas of HSE.
  • Coordinate PEC Safeland / CORE training as well as Veriforce or NCCER OQ training.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with foremen, supervisors, subordinates, peers, and client representatives.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity and professionalism in the performance of all work duties.
  • Ensure that all employees comply with Company HSE requirements, and all other Company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and public speaking ability.
  • Maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times, this includes being clean shaven.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with difficult people.
  • When warranted, must be able to work for extended periods of time outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner at all times in the execution of duties.
  • Required to prepare and present all safety meetings.
  • Must be able to work weekends when required.
  • Report to work as scheduled.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned in a timely manner, following all applicable company rules, regulations and policies, as well as Federal, State, and local laws and regulations.
  • Lead and maintain HSE compliance initiatives, builds policy and procedures.
  • Identify and close HSE compliance gaps to reduce risk to B&G and its clients.
  • Maintain a state of readiness to pass potential regulatory or client audits.
  • Communication skills to build and improve the Safety Culture at B&G.
  • Lead required training in both office and field settings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and support teamwork within B&G.
