Safety Coordinator will support the company’s safety, compliance, and risk management efforts. This includes developing and implementing safety plans, ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations, conducting training, performing inspections, investigating incidents, and maintaining safety documentation. The role is both strategic and hands-on, working closely with leadership and field teams to build a strong safety culture, reduce accidents, and ensure legal and operational compliance. The responsibilities include demonstrating and effectively communicating the company's vision of Safety for all employees ensuring they operate in a safe work environment. Requirements The Safety Coordinator’s goals include: · Support the development and implementation of safety plans, o enforcing policies, o improving procedures, o assessing risk, o ensuring compliance with legal guidelines, OSHA FDA FMCSA DOT · Conduct safety training, · Investigate incidents and accidents, · Provide recommendations for improvement, and · Create a safe and compliant workplace environment. · The responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include: · Monitor and evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with governmental regulatory agencies. o OSHA o FDA o FMCSA o DOT · Support and enforce policies and procedures to establish a stronger safety culture. o Establishes high quality relationships with corporate leadership. · Develop/maintain health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. o Support the development of safety related KPIs and implement efforts to drive: continuous improvement, reducing accidents and worker’s compensation claims. o Review and strategize Emergency Preparedness (Emergency Action Plan). · Perform on-site inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks. o Assess OSHA, FDA, FMCSA and DOT compliance and report findings and recommendations. o Provide compliance with all safety policies and practices. o Conduct safety audits, reports findings and action plans to close safety gaps. · Investigate accidents and incidents in the workplace to evaluate how safety measures can be improved. o Identify, and report root-causes of accidents and provide recommendations and follow-up to prevent accident recurrences. o Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analysis, investigations, and provide effective documentation of findings and recommendations · Support the development of worker plans and policies for new employee safety orientation including skill training, emergency preparedness, proper job instruction, hazardous materials disposal procedures, and the use of protective equipment. · Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics o Ensures that project/department goals/milestones are met o Responsible for safety records management as it relates to: SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), OSHA · 300 and 301 Form preparation, Accident/Incident investigations, · DART · TRIR · Conduct safety committee meetings, audits, and inspections to: o ensure compliance, o evaluate performance, o identify preventative and corrective action plans, and o implement follow up assessments.
