About The Position

- The Safety Coordinator at ARC Thrift Stores is responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment across all store locations. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and policies to protect employees, customers, and assets. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety coordinator or similar role within a retail or warehouse environment.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing safety programs.
  • Experience in conducting safety audits and inspections.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and engage employees in safety practices.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports to track safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Proficient in using safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Lead and coordinate safety training programs for employees to enhance their understanding and adherence to safety practices.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness.
  • Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and provide guidance and support to store personnel.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement of safety practices.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization.
