Position Overview The Safety Coordinator supports a safe and compliant workplace by conducting regular facility and equipment inspections, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and company policies. This role delivers safety training and new‑hire orientations, leads incident and near‑miss investigations, and implements corrective actions. The coordinator identifies workplace hazards, develops risk‑mitigation measures, and maintains accurate documentation of training, inspections, and incidents. As the main safety point of contact, they lead safety meetings and promote a strong culture of safety across the organization.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in safety, logistics, or warehousing.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, hazardous materials management, and material safety.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training and reporting.
  • Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
  • Certifications: Required to complete an OSHA 10-hour / 30-hour certifications ( provided by HHFB )

Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular inspections of the facility, machinery, and material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, conveyor systems) to ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Training & Onboarding: Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new-hire orientations, PPE usage, and specialized hazard training (e.g., HazMat, lockout/tagout).
  • Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into accidents, near-misses, and injuries, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify and evaluate potential hazards in the warehouse, such as improper stacking, floor hazards, or unsafe employee behavior, and develop control measures.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports.
  • Safety Culture: Serve as the primary point of contact for safety, leading safety committee meetings and promoting a culture of safety among staff.
