This role is essential in ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client-specific safety standards. The Safety Coordinator I reports to the Safety Manager and plays a critical role in conducting jobsite evaluations, delivering safety training, managing documentation, and promoting best practices across departments. This position combines field inspections with office-based administrative duties to ensure company-wide safety compliance and awareness.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, technical school, or trade program required
  • 0–3 years of experience in a safety-related role
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Basic understanding of construction safety standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management
  • Physically able to climb ladders, lift 50+ lbs., and work in extreme weather
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
  • Prior safety experience in construction or general industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform safety evaluations at multiple jobsites and ensure immediate correction of deficiencies
  • Enforce OSHA 1926 & 1910 regulations and company safety protocols
  • Conduct and coordinate safety training, including: New employee orientations Fall protection Forklift and aerial lift training Hazard communication and PPE
  • Maintain training logs and certifications for all employees and subcontractors
  • Conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Facilitate safety stand-downs and toolbox talks
  • Track and inspect fire extinguishers, PPE, and safety equipment
  • Purchase and distribute safety gear and supplies
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports
  • Attend department meetings and provide updates on safety performance
  • Ensure new hires complete orientation before starting in the field
