About The Position

Fosters, directly and indirectly, by action, example and training, a comprehensive safety program. Monitors potential health and safety conditions of the workplace; identifies problems, recommends solutions, and ensures that the on-going safety system is corrected to incorporate the changes. Developing methodologies, projects and metrics for enterprise-wide incorporation; and partners with site and Divisional leadership to establish and drive programs and metrics to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, 8-10 years of related and progressively more complex experience.
Large-scale and/or multi-site project management experience, including defining project scope, planning activities, and managing completion.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

Develops and audits safety procedures, practices and activities that support business goals and objectives
Implements, through supervisors and managers, an effective safety performance tracking and measurement system. Collaborates on a scheduled basis with management/departments to interpret the results and effects of the corrective actions
Leads line supervision and Safety team members in the development of required revisions to existing procedures, rules and regulations
Keeps abreast of technical developments and OSHA related regulations that affect the safety considerations for operations. Incorporates new information into existing operations, where applicable
Leads the review of all incidents. Responsible for effective operations record keeping and OSHA document compliance, and working with Workers Compensation and management to mitigate future incidents
Consults with Engineering and Maintenance departments on major plans and specifications for new or proposed changes in process, equipment or methods and reviews for compliance with safety standards before acceptance or use
Collaborates with supervision in the administration of the Light Duty Work Program and in the assignment of eligible employees in accordance with established practices
Drives safety requirements to Engineering and Maintenance departments regarding outside contractor's safety requirements
Maintains knowledge of the Corporate Loss Control Program, manuals, rules and regulations and in proper communication of such programs, rules and regulations
Assists and advises supervisory staff in proper administration of the Corporate Loss Control Program, including, but not limited to:
Discusses complaints and suggestions received in writing relating to safety conditions with the affected supervision
By observation of physical conditions and work practices, detects lack of conformity with the Loss Control Program and drives the corrective action with supervision
Provides technical training on observing unsafe acts to management and supervision and monitors the training effectiveness
Coach teach and lead techniques to the leadership and business teams to drive improvement in organization. Develop mentoring of senior and high potential leadership to assure tools are understood and utilized in daily activities.
Lead standardized 6S programs and assure sites have personnel and programs to achieve objectives.
Develop programs with regular report outs of metrics and independent audits to assure compliance for Continuous Improvement programs.
Develop and populate a Project Library that can be accessed for leveraged learning over the sites. Establish knowledge-based web site to encourage and maximize leveraged learning across the business.
Establish models that can be standardized, leveraged, and utilized as best practices to increase lessons learned, and expedite incorporation of best practices.
Works collaboratively with various departments, personnel and all aspects of the PCC SWC leadership to implement continuous improvements, strategies and tactics directly and indirectly.
