Were just built to be better. We are a great company. We are seeking a Safety and Security Lead to join our New Rochelle, NY team! The position can also be worked from the Atlas Atlanta, GA area offices. Come join us! Penn Station Access (PSA) calls for the New Haven Line to use the Hell Gate Line to access Penn Station. New York MTA is creating an extension of Metro-North Railroad's new Haven Line to reach Penn Station. This will create four new accessible stations, improve existing tracks and bridges, and cut travel times from the Bronx to Manhattan by as much as 50 minutes. The project includes a scope of work to bring Amtrak's existing Hell Gate Line into a state of good repair, which includes four bridge rehabilitations, reconfigured interlockings, and the modernization of signal, power, and communication equipment. The Project Safety and Security Certification (SSC) Lead will provide the necessary coordination of railroads (Amtrak, Metro North Railroad, Long Island Railroad and MTA) to complete certification process activities for the $2.8 Billion project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • Transit Safety Security Professional (TSSP) Certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Leading project meetings to identify and verify certifiable elements for safety critical items in coordination with Design-Build team and agency stakeholders.
  • Employing strategies to gain buy-in for collaborative processes to accomplish SSC goals.
  • Conducts technical meetings with stakeholders to provide clarity on SSC processes, roles and responsibilities to meet FTA and FRA safety certification requirements.
  • Assists in the completion of SSC documentation compliance reviews for Design Criteria Conformance, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Threat & Vulnerability Risk Assessment, Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP) and Safety and Security Certification Plan (SSCP). Assistance includes meeting with stakeholders to identify disagreements and offer clarification to gain acceptance.
  • Work with Technical Working Groups / SMEs to make sure that the SSC process is understood and tracking mechanisms and updates are followed.
  • Attend Safety and Security Certification Working Groups Bi-Weekly Meetings with MNR, Amtrak, PMT, MTA and HRJV.
  • Confirm and monitor Certificate of Conformance (CoC) Signatories and Packages to ensure that all BOE documents are included in the CoC packages.
  • Assist agencies with identifying Body of Evidence (BOE) documents needed to sign-off on CoC.
