The Safety Analyst Intern supports the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) by assisting with research, program development, compliance activities, and operational safety initiatives. This role provides hands‑on experience in safety program administration, risk mitigation strategies, and policy development across all business units. The intern works closely with Corporate Safety leadership to enhance safety performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen Massport’s safety culture.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college or university.
  • This position is based at our Logan Office Center.
  • Ability to work a 37.5-hour work week.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of application.
  • Ability to pass Massport’s pre-employment-controlled substance test and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, updating, and organizing Corporate Safety policies, manuals, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide support on special safety initiatives such as emergency preparedness, safety communications, and seasonal operations planning.
  • Organize documentation, assist with meeting preparation, and maintain accurate safety records.
  • Support analysis of incident reports, safety metrics, inspections, and trends to help identify improving or emerging risks.
  • Conduct research on industry best practices, regulatory standards (DLS OSHA, FAA, NFPA, etc.), and safety innovations.
  • Help manage safety training documentation, track LMS course completion, and support the creation of training materials.
  • Participate in safety inspections, audits, and hazard identification activities alongside Massport Safety staff.
