Therefore, as a Safety Advisor, you will promote the Enbridge Vision, Values, and Path to Zero Principles among internal team members as well as external contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. The Safety Advisor supports and strengthens the Safety Management Systems (SMS) application across all elements, programs, standards, and practices within the Business Unit Area operations. They guide team members in thorough and comprehensive use of the Enbridge leading indicator programs, permitting compliance steps, incident management, communications internally and externally, and contractor/subcontractor engagement. Using strong analytical and report writing skills, Senior Safety Advisor review trends in leading and lagging indicators to recommend safety management system enhancements. Moreover, they offer extensive technical expertise related to the business, may lead small regional projects, and coordinate a small team’s tasks. What You Will Do: Champion the Enbridge Vision, Values, and Path to Zero Principles with internal stakeholders and external contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Operationalize the Enbridge Safety Culture Framework by promoting and seeking out opportunities to strengthen safety culture traits, attributes and characteristics. Support area/regional line management and safety representatives in execution of their roles. A contributor in the development, implementation, and sustainment of occupational health and safety programs, standards, safety cultural assessments and training programs. Provide support to operational leadership for reaffirming safety standards and work execution management through systematic assurance of work activities and participation in corrective action plans. Assist with health and safety matters to enable Enbridge to be compliant with all provincial, state and federal health and safety legislation, including third party audits, inspections and investigations. Act as a conduit for communications on H&S matters between regions and S&R support teams e.g., shared services and occupational hygiene Support implementation of Occupational Health plans initiatives and monitoring. Support implementation of the contractor safety management program. Conduct and/or participate in area safety assessments, inspections, and observations; quality reviews, trend and analyze data, and assist in the completion of corrective actions as required. Support area in the incident management function inclusive of the processes for incident reporting, investigation, management committee reviews, corrective action monitoring and lessons learned bulletin communications. Provide input into safety training courses and facilitate area safety training as required. Participate on assigned committees and serve as a technical safety resource. Support people leaders with post incident D&A classification. Assume the role of safety officer or a safety support role within the Incident Command System during emergencies and emergency response exercises. As required, interface with regulators and other 3rd parties completing safety audits, reviews, inspections and/or investigations and aid in the development and timely completion of associated corrective action plans. Generate regular and ad hoc reports on specific leading and lagging indicator metrics Participate in small work teams on problem identification, and problem-solving issues to support continuous improvement of operational reliability.
