About The Position

Turner Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support heavy civil, construction, road building, and mining project sites. This field‑based role focuses on promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing hands‑on safety leadership across multiple project locations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in heavy civil, construction, or mining environments
• Strong knowledge of provincial OH&S regulations
• MSHA Part 48 certification or ability to obtain
• Alcohol and Drug Screening (pre‑employment)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work 12‑hour rotational day/night shifts
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
• High school diploma required; post-secondary education an asset

Responsibilities

• Deliver field‑level safety orientations and lead safety meetings
• Promote and model safe work behaviors and best practices
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Support incident and near‑miss investigations
• Monitor compliance with Turner Staffing Group’s Safe Work Practices and PPE policies
• Collaborate with workers, supervisors, and management to identify and mitigate hazards
• Track safety trends and recommend continuous improvements
• Travel to multiple project sites as required
