SMG seeks a Safety Advisor - Generation in Arizona. Person must be able to travel throughout Arizona. The key function of a Safety Advisor is to prioritize safety at the forefront of their job, put the client's needs first, work effectively in a team setting, be self-managed, and remain flexible in the face of change. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Deliver uniform safety orientations, maintain attendance logs. Review and provide feedback regarding project specific safety plans prior to beginning work on the project. Review contractor compliance with written project safety plan when completing project safety observations. Participate and provide input to integrate project-specific EHS requirements in tender packages. Review the training history of contractor’s crew to ensure it meets training requirements, conduct contractor safety training packages, and ensure field execution matches training requirements. Review and approve contractor’s project safety plans. Daily job brief/JSA. Support Contractor prequalification and annual recertification process. Assist contractors to identify measures to comply with safety policies. Provide safety checklists and forms upon site mobilization. Perform and participate in field inspections and audits. Track field observations/actions to closure. Review safety observation trends, identify risks/improvement opportunities, propose corrective actions. Perform quarterly audits to ensure contractor tools and safety harnesses satisfy inspection requirements. Review and analyze collected data to identify opportunities for improvement. Manage and mitigate incidents effectively through comprehensive investigation and reporting. Conduct independent incident review and prepare all required documentation. Schedule and facilitate incident review meetings. Support safety integration and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. Participate and support project meetings that require safety information and reporting. Serve as liaison to coordinate facility safety and construction project safety interaction. Provide leadership for pre-construction safety planning meetings (pre-bid/pre-construction). Enhance project safety through specialized support and oversight of high-risk activities. Evaluate scope of work by bid package(s) and make recommendations related to contractor safety support levels. Prepare and distribute safety trends and KPIs report. Be the Safety Subject matter Expert for on-site Contractor Safety.
