About The Position

Founded in 1936, the National Wildlife Federation has grown into America's

rapidly changing world. We advance this mission through programming focused on
conserving wildlife, restoring habitats and waterways, expanding outdoor
opportunities, connecting children with nature, advancing environmental justice,
and addressing the causes and consequences of climate change.

To support our mission, we are seeking a Sacred Grounds Intern to join our
Conservation Department in Washington D.C. This is a part-time, temporary
opportunity (10 weeks) starting on or after  May 18 and ending on or before
August 3, 2026.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Enrolled in college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assist with outreach to congregation leaders and members through various means such as creating flyers and other communications and outreach materials.
• Develop participant databases and mailing lists, track metrics, summarize data and create reports of the results
• Organize photos and videos, compile native plant nursery orders, do background research on native plants, gardening and associated environmental benefits,
• updating Sacred Grounds toolkit.

Benefits

• This position pays $18.50 an hour with paid holidays.
• NWF is happy to work with the applicant to obtain relevant credit(s) through college/university programming, such as directed independent study (DIS), internship credit hours, etc.
