To support our mission, we are seeking a Sacred Grounds Intern to join our Conservation Department in Washington D.C. This is a part-time, temporary opportunity (10 weeks) starting on or after May 18 and ending on or before August 3, 2026. Principle Duties (major areas of responsibility): Assist with outreach to congregation leaders and members through various means such as creating flyers and other communications and outreach materials. Develop participant databases and mailing lists, track metrics, summarize data and create reports of the results Organize photos and videos, compile native plant nursery orders, do background research on native plants, gardening and associated environmental benefits, updating Sacred Grounds toolkit. Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent; Enrolled in college or university. Travel Requirements: This position requires occasional visits to places of worship in the greater Washington, DC area, including Northern Virginia and Maryland but does not require any overnight stays. Intern may drive or use public transportation to get to the locations. Location and Work Mode: This position will be based in downtown Washington DC at the National Advocacy Center. The position requires mobility, including moving materials weighing up to several pounds (such as a laptop computer or tablet). Compensation: This position pays $18.50 an hour with paid holidays. This is a paid short-term internship opportunity with the National Wildlife Federation.
