This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages inventory and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The S&OE Manager is primarily responsible for optimizing supply chain outcomes through specialized tasks and independent research. You will gather demand information, analyze trends, manage inventory, and partner cross-functionally ensuring product is in the right place at the right time. In this role, a typical day will include: Lead the S&OE execution cadence for a defined scope (SKU/site/market), monitoring short-term demand, supply, and inventory signals across the 0–13 week horizon to support customer order fulfillment Identify and communicate day-over-day/week-over-week changes (demand, supply, backlog, inventory), quantify drivers, and translate impacts into clear priorities and actions Maintain and validate execution-critical data and system settings (allocation rules, prioritization logic, ATP/availability assumptions, and order holds/blocks) to enable accurate order promising and consistent execution Partner with Customer Service, Commercial Operations, and Finance to confirm near-term priorities (key customers, launches, promotions), resolve order exceptions, and document decisions and trade-offs Lead daily/weekly S&OE exception reviews by identifying shortages, constraints, and service risks; drive recovery actions (allocation changes, substitutions, expedites, and re-prioritization) to keep product in the right place at the right time Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, and Distribution to align inventory deployment and shipment plans to priorities, ensuring product is positioned to fulfill customer orders Monitor and report S&OE execution KPIs (OTIF/fill rate, backlog and past-due, inventory availability, allocation adherence, and expedite root causes) and escalate risks with recommended actions Prepare and facilitate execution-ready S&OE huddles (exceptions, shortages, allocations, decisions, and actions) and ensure follow-ups are tracked to closure Ensure adherence to GxP requirements by following SOPs, maintaining accurate documentation, and completing required training Maintain complete and compliant records to support audit readiness and regulatory expectations Drive continuous improvement by standardizing exception management and escalation, strengthening allocation/priority rules, and enhancing tools and reporting to improve service and order fulfillment performance Additional Job Description: Responsible for leading the short-term Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) cadence for a defined scope by monitoring demand, supply, backlog, and inventory signals across the 0–13 week horizon and translating changes into clear priorities and actions. Prepares and facilitates S&OE huddles, reports execution KPIs, escalates risks with recommended actions, and maintains GxP-compliant documentation to support audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience
