The Rural Texas Strong Grant Specialist reports to the Rural Texas Strong Program Director in the Provider Finance Department within the Chief Financial Officer Division at the Health and Human Services Commission. This position will be responsible for the successful initiation, daily oversight, and delivery of initiatives related to the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) Program administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This position will be responsible for program administration of federal funding disbursed as grants to rural health providers. The Grant Specialist will work on grant development and administration, including preparing, maintaining, and reporting of grants provided to rural health providers. This role will evaluate grant applications to determine compliance with requirements and standards, monitor grant awards, and serve as a liaison between rural stakeholders and the lead agency for the program and the federal government. Responsibilities will includes organizing and managing meetings and initiatives; performing cross-divisional coordination and project management; tracking milestones.
