About The Position

Nutrition Program Driver--Rural Route The Nutrition Program Driver is responsible for delivering home-delivered meals to older adults throughout Fond du Lac County, primarily on rural routes. This position drives a county-owned vehicle and plays an important role in supporting the health, safety, and independence of program participants. Drivers follow established delivery routes and schedules, ensure meals are handled according to food safety and quality standards, and provide courteous, respectful interaction with clients. This position requires dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining communication with office staff regarding deliveries, client concerns, or vehicle maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
  • Dependable, punctual, and comfortable driving rural routes
  • Ability to interact respectfully with older adults and diverse populations

Responsibilities

  • Deliver home-delivered meals in a timely and safe manner on assigned rural routes
  • Handle and transport meals according to food safety requirements
  • Operate a county vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws
  • Perform basic vehicle safety checks and report maintenance or safety concerns
  • Communicate with office staff regarding delivery issues or client concerns
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful interaction with participants
