We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to contribute to the design, development, and management of the organization's runtime environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance for critical applications and services. This role will oversee the engineering and operations of runtime platforms, including container orchestration, compute, storage, and runtime observability, while driving innovation and operational excellence. As a member of our Runtime Engineering team, the engineer will collaborate closely with DevOps and other infrastructure teams to deliver robust and efficient runtime solutions that align with business objectives.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, or runtime environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale, distributed runtime platforms in cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Expertise in container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Nomad, OpenShift) and runtime environments.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and serverless platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) for runtime platforms.
  • Proven ability to optimize runtime environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive innovation in runtime technologies, including container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), serverless platforms, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Contribute to best practices for runtime engineering, focusing on reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure the availability, performance, and security of runtime platforms through proactive monitoring, incident management, and capacity planning.
  • Drive the adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Partner with application development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure runtime platforms meet the needs of engineering teams and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure runtime platforms adhere to compliance and security standards.
  • Build and lead a high-performing runtime engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for runtime platforms, including uptime, latency, and resource utilization.
  • Implement observability solutions to provide deep visibility into runtime platform health and performance.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance the capabilities of runtime platforms.
