The Runner position is responsible for ensuring communications equipment works properly by testing beepers and radios. Key duties include placing requested items such as rollaway beds and refrigerators in guest rooms, and delivering various items like extra towels, bathrobes, complimentary toiletries (toothpaste, razors, shampoo), messages, mail, faxes, packages, flowers, sundry items, gift items, cribs, and linens to guest rooms. The role may also involve delivering food, beverages, or other amenities and assembling orders to go. This position requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets. Runners are expected to welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Professional language, positive working relationships, and support for team goals are essential, along with compliance with quality assurance standards. The role involves physical demands such as reading small print, visually inspecting equipment, standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and moving objects up to 50 pounds without assistance. It also requires navigating narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, stairs, and service ramps, and performing actions like bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching overhead and below the knees.
