About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY Deliver kitchen items from the line to the guests in the dining room. Help manage the expo station and prepare sauces and garnishes for the dishes. The Runner is responsible for ensuring quality control in all dishes before they are delivered.

Requirements

  • Great interpersonal skills
  • 1+ years prior Runner experience or similar role in a restaurant preferred
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
  • Multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
  • Able to speak and understand English
  • Able to comprehend and follow written and verbal direction
  • Able to understand basic math
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Able to lift at least 30 pounds on a regular basis
  • Able to bend, stoop, stand and perform extensive walking for 8-10 hours a day
  • Able to manage going up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Adaptable in fast-paced and challenging work environment
  • Organized approach to projects
  • Able to take and give direction
  • Able to approach their work with a sense of ownership and work with a sense of urgency
  • Able to work nights, weekends and holidays and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
  • Able to perform essential job functions under pressure, maintain professionalism when working under stress
  • Maintain polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards as outlined by Employee Handbook
  • Strict adherence to posted schedule and clock in/out at times
  • Communicate information effectively and efficiently
  • Maintain general knowledge of the restaurant, location, transportation, management team, etc.
  • Comply with Company’s policies and procedures, as well as city, state and federal laws
  • Adhere to all HR policies and guidelines
  • Inform Manager on Duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations
  • Knowledgeable in all restaurant operations
  • Update knowledge and skills by participating in any further required training

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food to guest’s tables in a timely manner
  • Answer guest questions regarding our food
  • Must know the menu inside and out
  • Prepare expo station for service by filling sauces, prepping to-go boxes, prepping gari for service, etc.
  • Remove used bottles, glasses, napkins and plates, etc. when guests no longer need them
  • Run to-go food to takeout station
  • Help manage the KDS screen as line cooks prepare food and it is being run to tables; keep the screen up-to-date
  • Complete daily shift opening and closing side work checklist
  • Maintain sanitation to Department of Health standards; Keep work area clean and organized
