About The Position

The RSS (Residential Support Services) Shift Coordinator is responsible for overseeing shift operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and providing leadership to RSS staff. This role requires strong communication skills, crisis management abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a supportive residential environment. This position is integral to maintaining a structured and supportive environment for residents while ensuring RSS staff receive proper leadership and direction during their shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a human services field preferred.
Previous experience in a residential, behavioral health, or social services setting preferred.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and composure.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and residential treatment best practices.
Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant training.

Responsibilities

Supervise and support RSS staff during assigned shifts.
Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and maintain a safe and structured environment for residents.
Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
Coordinate shift activities, including staff assignments and resident engagement.
Conduct shift change briefings and ensure proper documentation of incidents and updates.
Communicate resident concerns and incidents to appropriate staff and leadership.
Ensure residents adhere to program expectations and schedules.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including shift logs and incident reports.
Provide guidance and training to RSS staff to enhance service delivery.
