POSITION SUMMARY The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will receive and verify all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and loads/unloads all shipping and receiving items. They will organize warehouse inventory and distributes among the Rosenbauer campus accordingly. Also, they will operate and maneuver a forklift in order to complete all Materials department tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to perform simple tasks, such as typing a letter and using basic commands such as setting tabs, opening, and closing files, simple formulas.
• Prior experience with a computer terminal and/or PC
• Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills or related fields.
• Able to recognize the importance and adhere to all safety policies to promote a safe working environment.
• Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift certification preferred
• 3 years of shipping and receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives and verifies all incoming and outgoing ground shipments and loads/unloads all shipping and receiving items.
• Organizes warehouse inventory and distributes among the Rosenbauer campus accordingly.
• Operates and maneuvers a forklift in order to complete all Materials department tasks.
• Creates commercial documents for imports and exports.
• Verifies all shipments through documentation and inspects any incoming deliveries for damages.
• Answers phone calls from other departments to maintain strong communication through shipping and receiving processes.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.
