Summary of Position The Roving Leasing Professional provides temporary leasing and sales support across ARTISAN’s multifamily portfolio to ensure continuity during planned or unplanned staffing gaps. This role is responsible for supporting leasing activity, prospect engagement, resident interactions, and occupancy goals while maintaining ARTISAN’s customer service standards. This is a roving position that may be based in Central Iowa, Eastern Iowa, or Chicago, with travel required within the assigned region. The hourly pay range is $26–$30 per hour plus commissions, with compensation determined based on location, experience, and regional market conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college-level education preferred.
  • 1+ years of sales experience required.
  • 6+ months of on-site leasing experience, or a combination of customer service and sales experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to diverse teams and resident populations.
  • Confidence in sales and the ability to close with professionalism and persistence possesses superior sales ability.
  • Computer proficiency required, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); AppFolio experience preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Willingness and availability to travel and stay overnight as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site support across the portfolio through frequent travel to fill temporary staffing gaps and deliver training support.
  • Conduct all business in accordance with ARTISAN policies and procedures, as well as all applicable Federal and State laws, including the Fair Housing Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Provide leasing support at assigned communities, assisting during vacancies, peak seasons, and staff absences.
  • Manage the full leasing process from tour to move-in, ensuring an exceptional ARTISAN move-in experience.
  • Showcase the value of community features as they relate to each prospective resident's individual needs.
  • Use a stakeholder-focused approach year-round to ensure a smooth renewal process for existing residents.
  • Utilize and establish creative marketing and social media strategies to increase property traffic.
  • Support occupancy and retention goals by following up with both prospective and current residents.
  • Use problem-solving skills and sound judgment to navigate unpredictable situations as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate and in-depth knowledge of the assigned community and local competitors to help prospective residents make informed decisions.
  • Promote positive resident relations through timely and professional responses to concerns and service needs.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail while preparing lease documents, resident files, applications for approval, and related bookkeeping tasks.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and organize resident engagement events.
  • Assist with additional leasing or operational tasks as needed at each assignment.
