About The Position

The Roving Compliance Coordinator provides on-site and regional support across NP Dodge-managed properties with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD, HOME, RD, etc.). This role is responsible for traveling between properties to assist with compliance operations. The Roving Compliance Coordinator ensures timely and accurate processing of applications and certifications, supports property teams in maintaining regulatory compliance, and serves as a resource for training and troubleshooting compliance-related issues. This position works closely with Property Managers, the Compliance team, and Housing Finance Agencies, and plays a key role in maintaining consistency, accuracy, and operational continuity across multiple sites.

  • Requires the ability to withstand physical activity and navigate the property to include; walking, lifting, sitting, bending, twisting, climbing, reaching, flexibility, mobility and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel required.
  • Ability to travel frequently between properties, including regular day travel. Ability to report to different property locations with limited notice. Overnight travel limited to 1–2 nights annually. 
  • Ability to work under time constraints, including extended hours during peak periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, real estate, business administration, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of prior experience in property management or affordable housing compliance role preferred.
  • Experience working across multiple sites or in a traveling/roving support role preferred.
  • Real Estate Assessment Center (REAC), Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP) or the Consortium for Housing and Asset Management (CHAM) designation a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates company core values.
  • Travels between assigned properties to provide short-term, on-site, management, compliance and leasing support based on operational needs.
  • Quickly assess property compliance status upon arrival and prioritize immediate operational needs and risks.
  • Works on-site to ensure timely and accurate application and certification processing, often stepping into active workflows with minimal ramp-up.
  • Conducts property tours and communicates program requirements clearly.
  • Assist prospective residents with rental applications, income certifications, and required compliance forms.
  • Reviews, prepares, and updates resident certification files and compliance tracking tools to ensure audit readiness across assigned properties.
  • Conducts and supports on-site and in-house file audits to assist properties in preparing for internal and external compliance reviews.
  • Provides on-site training, coaching, and technical support to property teams on LIHTC, HUD, and other affordable housing program requirements.
  • Monitors and maintains the appropriate compliance for each property as it relates to rent/income limits and utility allowances.
  • Assists Compliance Manager in resolving open 8823 compliance issues.
  • Attend Housing Finance Agency training and other compliance classes to remain current and proficient with LIHTC & HUD compliance rules.
  • Maintains flexibility to adjust schedule, travel, and priorities based on business needs.
  • Reasonable and reliable attendance and timeliness when reporting to work and completing work.
  • Interacts well with others.
