About The Position

The Route Manager will supervise roll-off and front-load drivers and dispatchers. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hard-working, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals and groups. The Route Manager will be able to work effectively with Microsoft Office Suite, handle multiple projects, and work well in a deadline-driven culture. Atlas Disposal Industries was established in March of 1998 in response to new recycling mandates. It has grown to be a leading waste management company in Sacramento, expanding operations to Salt Lake City, Utah, and Phoenix, AZ. The company prides itself on being independently owned, locally operated, and aimed at preserving the environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in the transportation industry overseeing drivers.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient use of computers and typing skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of company rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to motivate and coach a team for performance.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work alone and with a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to work well in a deadline-driven culture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and reinforce company safety programs and policies, and OSHA standards.
  • Supervise driver activities to ensure safety, productivity, and service standards are at Atlas’s high-performance level.
  • Lead the team to exceed our customer’s expectations in all areas.
  • Review and approve timecard hours and productivity reports.
  • Maintain and review driver files, records, and reports to track performance.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and perform site checks.
  • Ensure that drivers comply with physicals and drug tests.
  • Conduct driver in-cab observations and follow drivers in the field.
  • Assist with investigations for any injuries or incidents.
  • Conduct coaching and disciplinary action for the team as needed.
  • Assist the dispatch team as needed.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.
