About The Position

Route Service Manager (Hands-On Leadership Role) Company: Crown Linen Service, Inc. Location: Columbia, MO Industry: Linen & Uniform Services This Is Not a Desk Job If you’re the kind of leader who can jump in the driver’s seat, push carts, solve customer problems face-to-face, and still keep a team moving forward—this job is for you. We’re looking for a Route Service Manager who leads from the front. You’ll manage our route team, keep customers happy, and fill in as a relief driver when needed . Some days you’ll be coaching drivers. Other days you’ll be running a route yourself. Every day you’ll be hands-on.

Requirements

• Leadership experience in route service, delivery, logistics, or a similar hands-on environment
• Comfortable driving a truck and servicing accounts when necessary
• Strong work ethic—this role is physically demanding
• A leader who earns respect by working alongside the team
• Problem-solver who takes ownership and gets results
• Strong communication skills with drivers and customers
• Valid driver’s license required
• Lifting, pushing, and pulling linen carts
• Early mornings and fast-paced days
• Handling tough customers and tough situations
• Making decisions on the fly

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate route service drivers
• Run routes yourself when drivers are out or coverage is needed
• Ensure deliveries are accurate, on time, and done right
• Ride along with drivers to coach, audit, and improve performance
• Handle customer issues in the field and resolve problems fast
• Hold drivers accountable to safety, service, and productivity standards
• Coordinate with operations teams to keep service flowing
• Improve route efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction
• Enforce safety rules, DOT compliance, and company policies
• Stay active, visible, and involved in daily operations
