About The Position

HJH Logistics, working exclusively with Cash-Wa Distributing of Fargo, is seeking a Class A CDL Driver. This role offers the opportunity to start and end your day in Fargo with no scheduled weekends for the primary route delivery position. The company is looking for individuals who can primarily focus on Day Delivery but are also able to cover Evening Drop & Hook driver shifts, and vice versa. Experienced drivers start at $32.54/hr, with the potential to reach this rate within 3 months. Drivers typically work 4-5 days per week on weekday routes, averaging 9-12 hours per day, and generally qualify for overtime pay. The work week is Monday through Friday for day routes, and Sunday through Thursday for evening shuttle routes. HJH Logistics delivers to customers of Cash-Wa Distributing, one of the largest privately-owned food service distributors in the Midwest, offering increasing opportunities due to continued growth. The Fargo Route Driver position involves starting in the early morning hours (3-4 am) and finishing in the early to mid-afternoon, with average weekly hours of 45-55. Responsibilities include picking up packed trailers, following delivery routes, building loads for customers, scanning delivery tickets, obtaining signatures, and building customer relationships. Longer routes are moving towards a 4-day work week, averaging about 45 hours, with occasional 5-day weeks for coverage. The Fargo Shuttle Driver position is an evening route for drop and hook driving. Drivers pull two full trailers from the Fargo warehouse to remote locations, move con gear, drop off and pick up two empty trailers, and return them to Fargo. This role works Sunday through Thursday nights, with general start times ranging from 7-11 pm.

Requirements

Overall Safe driving record with a current, valid CDL Class-A License is required.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Ability to read/write/record data and perform simple mathematical calculations.
Ability to work independently.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with all customers by providing face-to-face service with each delivery.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations is required.
Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical abilities test is required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Two years foodservice delivery experience preferred.
Two years verifiable driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately, safely, and efficiently deliver merchandise using hand-trucks, ramps and/or lift gates to customers on a predetermined delivery route.
May include delivering products up and down stairs and in all types of weather.
Operate all working equipment safely and efficiently, including but not limited to hand truck, pallet jack, scanner and printer.
Provide the highest level of service and product integrity for every customer by safe and timely delivery of customer orders.
Deliver and stack merchandise on customer premises.
Accurately record delivery by verifying delivery of items with customers and obtaining proper signatures at the time of delivery.
Practice Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines to reduce risks for crashes, injuries and fatalities.
Utilize onboard computer to appropriately record mileage, hours of service and maintain driver log to adhere to state and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
Complete comprehensive pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and DVIRs.
Maintain legal weight limits and distributions.
Practice defensive driving skills and proper body mechanics to ensure safe driving and delivering practices.
