Reimagine What’s Possible Rotoflow, An Air Products Business is seeking a Manual Machinist responsible for the manufacture of a wide variety of new and reverse engineered turbomachinery parts and components at our headquarters in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Rotoflow is a full-service turbomachinery OEM - providing a wide-range of new equipment solutions and aftermarket services to our customers globally. For over 75 years, Rotoflow has designed and manufactured both standard and custom-engineered cryogenic and warm gas centrifugal turbomachinery used in market segments such as industrial gases, petrochemicals, and hydrocarbons. Products include compressor loaded turbo-expanders, generator-loaded power recovery expanders, and low-cost dissipative expanders. We offer new equipment designs, rerates, upgrades and repair along with field services, engineering evaluations, reliability, troubleshooting, training, remote diagnostics/data monitoring, shop services, and new equipment replacements for all types of centrifugal and reciprocating equipment. Our customers are served globally through regional service centers supported by both regional and centralized execution teams. Requirements

  • Ability to setup and operate manual milling machines, manual lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.
  • Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings.
  • Read, interpret, and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in the machining of parts.
  • Calculate appropriate speeds and feeds for various materials based on drawing requirements.
  • Ability to use precision inspection equipment and machine high tolerance parts (+/- 0.0001”) and complex geometries including threading.
  • Understand and apply advanced shop mathematics including trigonometry.
  • Working knowledge of the typical parts and components used in reciprocating and centrifugal pumps, compressors, and expanders.
  • Working knowledge of industry work practices required for operation of machine shop equipment.
  • Proficient using PC programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (written, verbal and presentation.)

  • Work collaboratively across the business to perform responsibilities.
  • A strong safety focus, with desire to learn and apply Air Products EHS&Q requirements.
  • Associates or technical degree in a related industry with 3 years of experience is required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma, and 5+ years part or component machining and manufacturing experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Availability to work a 1st shift: 6:25am to 2:25pm, Monday through Friday.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with machining pressure containing housings or casings is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a safe work environment by following all Rotoflow safe work procedures and actively participating in the Air Product’s Basic Safety Process
  • Understanding and adhering to industrial safe work processes and standards in a manufacturing environment working with ASU, hydrocarbon, and petrochemical industry equipment
  • Performing all duties necessary to set up and operate a wide range of manual machining equipment to produce high tolerance, complex parts in accordance with manufacturing drawings and models. Equipment includes manual milling machines, manual lathes, radial drill presses, surface grinders etc.
  • Machining parts that comply with all aspects of the engineering requirements, such as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, dimensional, material certification, and customer specific requirements provided by the engineering team
  • Maintaining quality documentation, material certificates, dimension inspection reports, and other critical to quality documents throughout the part manufacturing lifecycle
  • Providing continuous feedback to the design and engineering teams on the design and manufacturability of parts and components
