Position Overview Support the inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of industrial rotating equipment, including compressors, turbines, and related mechanical systems Work onsite in Harahan, LA within an industrial shop and/or field service environment supporting ongoing operations and project execution Perform mechanical tasks including disassembly, inspection, precision measurement, alignment, and reassembly of rotating equipment Execute work in accordance with strict safety, quality, and procedural standards while meeting project timelines and client expectations Operate as part of a consulting engagement through APS, contributing to client project delivery with the opportunity to pursue long-term employment directly with the client based on performance and business needs Support night shift operations, ensuring continuity of work, documentation, and communication across shifts Interpret technical drawings, work scopes, and specifications to accurately complete assigned tasks Assist in maintaining equipment reliability and operational performance through proper repair and maintenance practices Document work performed, including dimensional inspections, irregularities, and job progress Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Continuously develop technical skills related to rotating equipment repair, inspection, and precision maintenance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience working with rotating equipment, including turbines and compressors
  • Strong millwright/mechanical experience in industrial environments
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and related inspection equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work scopes, and verbal instructions
  • Knowledge of rigging practices, including safe use of cranes and forklifts
  • Ability to perform installation, alignment, disassembly, inspection, repair, and reassembly of rotating equipment
  • Strong understanding of dimensional inspection processes with the ability to accurately measure and document results
  • Familiarity with maintenance documentation including inspection reports, photo logs, and hold tags
  • Ability to maintain clean, organized work areas and communicate shift progress and job status
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Experience performing maintenance and overhaul of turbomachinery including turbines, compressors, and rotating assemblies
  • Rotor-specific experience including axial measurements, outside diameters (ODs), and runouts (ROs)
  • Prior experience in shop and/or field service environments supporting outages, turnarounds, or capital projects
  • Exposure to alignment techniques and precision mechanical assembly practices
  • Experience working with customer representatives, inspectors, or quality witnesses
  • Successful completion of dimensional inspection testing or equivalent certification
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn advanced rotating equipment repair processes
  • Team-oriented mindset with professional communication skills
