About The Position

Rotating Equipment Field Maintenance Technologist Your mission Keep critical industries running. As part of Ingersoll Rand’s Compression Systems and Services team, you will be the expert customers rely on to install, commission, and restore performance to rotary screw, reciprocating, Centac, and ECC air compressors and their supporting systems. Your craftsmanship, diagnostics, and customer care ensure uptime where it matters most. Where you’ll work and how Base territory: Virginia Beach and Fredericksburg, VA (daily travel within a 3-hour radius) Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM Compensation: $25.00–$35.00 per hour to start, depending on qualifications and experience Employment type: Full-time, hourly Hiring incentive: $3,000 Sign On Bonus! Provided: Company vehicle and fuel card How you’ll create impact Own equipment outcomes during installations, pre-commissioning, start-ups, and repairs—meeting customer specifications with limited guidance from a Master Technician. Execute preventive maintenance programs and respond to emergent issues with precision diagnostics and measured decision-making. Use precision measuring tools; interpret parts and operations manuals and electrical schematics to resolve faults. Coordinate parts procurement with the Service Coordinator for efficient job completion. Mentor apprentices and Field Service Technicians; elevate team capability. Advise customers on Ingersoll Rand solutions including Preventive Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits, and Leak Detection. Capabilities and qualifications 2+ years troubleshooting experience with industrial/commercial mechanical systems. Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months with a record free of major or frequent violations (DUI in the past 5 years, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving, or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the past 3 years). Participation in on-call rotation after your first 90 days—24/7 availability for a one-week period as often as every 4 weeks or longer per business need. Ability to meet the physical demands of the role including frequent hand/finger use, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting/moving per safety policy. High School Diploma or equivalent.
