Major Responsibilities: Menu Selections and Communication 1)Answers room service phone calls to obtain menu selections from patients and/or patients families. 2)Communicates special patient needs to dietitians. Processing Diet Orders 1)Follows physician’s diet orders for all patients 2)Updates and maintains accurate patient card files in computer. 3)Adheres to specific standards for diets when entering selections into computer or in modifying and checking menus. 4)Ensure meal tickets are in compliance with diet orders, allergies and proper identifier on the meal tickets. 5)Updates and maintains nourishment orders to ensure diet orders are met. Communication 1)Communicates between nursing, host/hostess, and kitchen staff in order to clarify orders and provide prompt service. 2)Communicates special patient needs to dietitians. Other 1)Upholds Advocate Health's Service Commitment through equality, compassion, excellence, partnership and stewardship. 2)Uses courtesy and respect in all interactions with managers, co-workers, patients, staff and visitors. 3)Responds positively to all requests. Utilizes proper phone etiquette and scripting when speaking to patients. 4)Maintains professional image and follows department dress code policy. 5)Performs additional miscellaneous duties, communicating status to supervisor Training/In-services/Meetings 1)Assists with training of other employees 2)Attends scheduled in-services and meetings.
