The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned guest rooms and bathrooms according to established procedures and standards. This includes changing sheets, making beds, vacuuming, dusting all surfaces (tables, nightstands, dressers, light fixtures, televisions, air condition units, and window ledges), and cleaning mirrors. The attendant must notify guest services (front desk) when service is complete so rooms may be sold, and report any room unable to be serviced within appropriate time standards to the supervisor. They are also responsible for reporting needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor and responding to requests from guests, supervisors, or management in a timely and efficient manner. Other duties include maintaining linen carts and supplies, ensuring the security of equipment, keys, and supplies, reporting lost and found articles, replacing light bulbs, transporting trash, and replenishing room supplies such as drinking glasses, writing materials, bathroom supplies, and linen. The role requires cleaning rooms in accordance with specific brand and company minute-per-room standards, following procedures for team cleaning and self-inspecting programs, and providing a professional image through appearance and dress. The attendant must also keep the maid station clean and organized, make rollaway beds, and follow company policies and procedures, performing other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
