About The Position

The Durable Slate Company is an award-winning historic roofing contractor established in 1986, specializing in premium historic roofing services including slate, copper, and clay-tile roofing. The company is known for its commitment to quality, integrity, and preservation excellence, blending deep respect for historic craftsmanship with modern expertise. They employ a “finials to foundation” approach with an in-house team of preservationists, conservators, and highly skilled craftspeople to deliver custom solutions. The company is looking for a Roofing Production Manager who is passionate about working with their hands, preserving historic structures, and being part of a team that values skill, safety, and pride in workmanship, seeking a rewarding, long-term career in historic preservation and roofing.

Requirements

  • Experience in shingle roofing
  • Demonstrates team-oriented leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with planning and scheduling roofing projects
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Maintains a valid driver’s license with no more than 4 points
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, lifts, scaffolding, and related equipment
  • Possesses strong communication skills, with experience working with both customers and staff
  • Takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship
  • Values safe and professional job sites
  • Is committed to superior service and high standards
  • Is seeking a rewarding, long-term career in historic preservation and roofing
