About The Position

Stimson Lumber Company’s, [Mill Location], is looking for experienced forklift operators who have worked in a fast-paced industrial environment. Applicants must be able to move safely and quickly, and be able to drive 8-10 hours a day. This is a significant role for someone looking to improve their skillset and advance their careers. Starting Pay: Base pay for this skilled position will start at $24.00-$27.00 per hour. People with significant knowledge and experience may come in at a higher level. Overtime: This position is eligible for Overtime at 1.5 times your base rate. Commute Pay: All Mill employees receive a $350/month fringe benefit to help with the cost of commuting and transportation. This is the equivalent of another $2.00 per hour for full-time employees. Healthcare: Stimson pays 80% of the premiums for healthcare coverage for full-time employees, including medical, dental and vision. 401(k): Stimson provides a 100% match on the first 6% of your pay when you contribute to your 401(k)-retirement account. Profit Sharing: Contributions are deposited annually into your 401(k) account for Profit Sharing, up to 3% of your pay. Bonus: This position is bonus eligible and will receive a discretionary bonus in years when the company and location are profitable. Paid Time-Off: Position offers 9 paid holidays and 2 weeks of paid vacation. Paid sick leave is available for up to 3 days per year. Requirements

Basic written and oral communication skills.
Must possess ability to learn and retain basic technical knowledge regarding the forklift, kiln downloading, kiln building, lumber inventory, and help out at the planer and sawmill forklift positions.
Basic mathematic ability.
Ability to manage time well.

Responsibilities

Active participation in daily QMR''s as assigned.
Focus on Continuous Improvement as a mindset and look for areas of potential.
Must have proven ability to safely operate Forklift at production level.
Must have proven ability to identify lumber units.
Required to be on/off the lift repetitively for the entire shift.
Work cooperatively with management and co-workers to achieve all safety, quality and production goals set for work environment.
Must demonstrate ownership in work performed, fallen sticks and lumber picked up immediately, not driven over.
Must demonstrate ownership in forklift and lumber yard cleanliness and organization as well as TPM.
Must be adaptive to change and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Must be willing to work all shifts according to mill work schedule
Will be required to work overtime as assigned.
