Hand, block, and mechanical sanding of car shells prior to primer/paint. Mask and clean surfaces to secure proper adhesion. Apply primers and undercoats per specification. Conduct general maintenance on paint tools and equipment. Pitch in to assist other painters and cross-functional teammates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED—or an equivalent blend of education and hands-on experience with painting or similar materials in manufacturing.
  • At least 1 year of painting experience in a factory or comparable environment.
  • Comfortable using English to communicate with customers, vendors, contracted services, and internal partners.
  • Able to read and write simple instructions, short memos, and technical documentation.
  • Solid math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; work with fractions/decimals; compute rate/ratio/percent; read bar graphs.
  • Frequent walking; reaching; stooping; kneeling; crouching; crawling.
  • Regular climbing of stairs, steps, and ladders.
  • Work on elevated platforms and perform overhead tasks.
  • Lift/carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
