About The Position
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Rolling Mill Operators for projects located in the Sandy, OR area . This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is up to $35/hour based on experience and skill level. Job Scope: Operate steel rolling machines as a Rolling Mill Operator to form 1-inch thick steel sheets into a circular shape, creating pipes and tanks Perform welding tasks using dual shield, MIG, TIG, and Flux core welding processes (no hardwire welding) Ensure all safety protocols are followed while operating the machine and performing welding operations Maintain the rolling mill equipment and welding tools to ensure smooth and efficient operation Monitor material quality and thickness to meet required specifications Conduct routine inspections and perform minor maintenance on the rolling mill machine and welding equipment Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Rolling Mill Operator or in a similar manufacturing or metal fabrication role
- Proficient in welding using dual shield, MIG, TIG, and Flux core welding (no hardwire welding)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with manual rolling mill machines (non-CNC)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality control
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift and maneuver steel sheets and materials safely
- Availability to work extensive overtime as needed
