Direct and monitor press crews, ensuring efficient workflow and meeting production targets and deadlines. Set up, adjust, and operate high-speed roll printing presses (flexo, gravure, etc.), mounting plates, loading stock, filling inks, and configuring automated systems. Pull samples, inspect for color, registration, density, and imperfections, making real-time adjustments to meet quality standards. Diagnose and resolve mechanical or quality issues; perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, oiling, and minor repairs. Manage job tracking, input settings, maintain production logs, and prepare for upcoming orders. Train new operators on equipment, procedures, and safety protocols. Enforce safety protocols, participate in safety meetings, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a press operator, ideally with leadership or team lead responsibilities in a roll printing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to read rulers/gauges, understand digital file prep, and operate printing software.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, leadership, and ability to work under pressure.
  • High school diploma/GED; vocational training in graphics or printing is beneficial.

Responsibilities
