Basic Job Functions:Nucor Steel-Hertford County is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Roll Grinder/Machinist. The successful candidate will coordinate housekeeping/safety efforts, be part of a team that performs maintenance on, repairs and improves the equipment at Nucor Steel-Hertford County as well as supporting the overall operation of the steel making process. This position requires working rotating shifts. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Associates in machining technology or minimum 2 years of experience as a machinist.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years’ experience as a job shop machinist
  • 2- or 4-year technical degree
  • Roll Grinding experience
