About The Position

The Robotic Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining the robot equipment design and applications standards for Stellantis VPE CARE, as well as leading projects to optimize machine operation. The scope of this group spans the core functions of Vehicle Process Engineering in Body Shops and General Assembly. The Specialist will conduct regular team meetings to review progress, identify obstacles, monitor projects to meet technical and business objectives, and develop advanced training and standard processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Process Engineering or other relevant technology degree or High School Diploma /GED with 5+ years in a similar discipline
  • 5 years of experience with industrial robotics applications (Fanuc, Comau Robotics, ABB, Nachi and Kuka Robotics)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office systems

  • Background leading robotic technologies; (e.g. First Robotics Program)
  • PLC Programming knowledge
  • Problem solving skills specific to robot simulations, peripheral interfacing and applications engineering Fanuc, Comau and Cobot programming experience
  • Microsoft Office experience (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint, Access, Outlook, SQL)
  • Must be self-directed and motivated to implement change within the direction and scope of FCA Group Advanced Manufacturing Senior Management
  • Innovative thinker with excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent team leadership skills

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining the robot equipment design and applications standards for Stellantis VPE CARE
  • Lead projects to optimize machine operation
  • Conducting regular team meetings to review progress and to identify potential obstacles
  • Monitor projects to meet their technical and business objectives
  • Develop advanced training and standard processes
  • Engaged with Plant organizations, Line Integrators, Vendors and IT organization as a Vehicle Process Engineering liaison
  • Assist in project definition, specification, purchasing and follow-through to installation
  • Support equipment standardization and authoring specifications
  • Lead or support automation campaigns
  • Support technical innovation research through solution testing and validation
  • Perform all the duties with clear leadership behavior and responsibility
  • Continuously evaluate equipment for improvement
  • Learning, teaching and sharing engineering information supporting the implementation of Vehicle Process Engineering Controls and Robotics (VPE CARE) Technologies
  • Engaged in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Be prepared to travel to support VPE CARE goals as required
