About The Position

Dive into the exciting world of robotics by tackling real-world perception challenges in solar farms! Your focus will be on spotting anomalies in modules and cables, as well as estimating geometry using camera images and point clouds. This role is all about developing practical algorithms that can be tested and implemented on embedded platforms. Here are some of the key takeaways and deliverables: Create methods to detect anomalies in solar modules, cables, and any structural oddities. - Develop perception algorithms that utilize vision and/or point clouds. Generate and leverage synthetic data (through simulation, augmentation, and procedural generation) to enhance model robustness and coverage. Prepare datasets, set evaluation metrics, and analyze any failure cases. Work closely with autonomy and field teams, ensuring that results are documented clearly. At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants. Our comprehensive portfolio enables faster project delivery, higher performance, and greater reliability, helping our customers capture the full value of solar power. Our talented worldwide teams are redefining how solar power plants are designed, built, and operated every day with smart technology, data-driven insights, and advanced automation. Together, we’re building the foundation for the world’s next generation of clean energy infrastructure. Nextpower is an equal opportunity employer.
