About The Position

PACIV, a global leader in industrial automation solutions servicing the Life Sciences sector, is seeking a Robotics & Logistics Technical Lead to support the strategy, design, integration, and delivery of advanced robotics and ASRS solutions. This role ensures scalable, reliable, and high-performing automation systems across warehouse, distribution, and manufacturing environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, Computer) or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in industrial automation, including robotics and/or ASRS systems
  • Strong experience in system architecture, integration, and commissioning of complex automation systems
  • Expert troubleshooting skills across electrical, controls, software, and mechanical domains
  • Experience managing multi-vendor automation projects (OEMs, integrators, software providers)
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA, etc.)
  • Experience with OT/IT integration, industrial networking, and system interoperability
  • Proven ability to deliver measurable performance outcomes (throughput, uptime, accuracy)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in large-scale warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing automation environments
  • Advanced knowledge of robotics/ASRS ecosystems (conveyance, sortation, AMRs/AGVs, pallet handling, vision systems)
  • Strong background in functional safety and compliance (risk assessments, safeguarding, validation)
  • Experience with system integration platforms (WMS, WES, WCS, SCADA, EMS)
  • Knowledge of OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, and system reliability practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for robotics and ASRS systems across the program
  • Define system architectures, interface standards, and performance/reliability targets
  • Oversee system integration across PLC/HMI, robotics controllers, safety systems, and WMS/WES/WCS platforms
  • Establish and manage interface control, including data flows, state models, and exception handling
  • Drive technical governance through design reviews, architecture alignment, and readiness gates
  • Ensure traceability from requirements through testing, validation, and acceptance
  • Lead commissioning activities including FAT, SAT, integrated testing, cutover, and hypercare
  • Monitor and drive achievement of KPIs such as throughput, accuracy, uptime, and recovery
  • Act as primary technical authority for OEMs and system integrators; review designs, manage changes, and ensure deliverables
  • Support vendor selection, scope definition, and technical trade-off decisions impacting cost and schedule
  • Own functional safety strategy, including risk assessments, safeguarding, and system validation
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, safety standards, and operational readiness requirements
  • Lead technical planning, resource forecasting, and risk management across multiple workstreams
  • Develop and implement engineering standards, templates, and documentation practices
  • Ensure effective handover to operations, including training, troubleshooting guides, and sustainment strategies
  • Mentor engineering teams and drive standardization and continuous improvement across sites
